JU to introduce online admissions for B Ed colleges | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 17: In a significant move, the University of Jammu has revolutionized the process of admissions in private affiliated B Ed colleges as from current year onwards the process of application as well as counselling will be done through online system.Sources disclosed that the whole process of counselling is a lengthy one which takes around three to four months as the students were coming from outside to apply and then the screening of documents had to be performed at the JU complex after that the schedule was set for the counselling. After all this strenuous process, the students were able to get the admission slips. Moreover, the process is costing huge amount to the University as the expenditure was around Rs 2.50 lakh in last year's counselling. Now by online process of application and counselling it will not only shrink the expenditure of JU authorities but also provide the liberty to the applicants who in majority are from the other states that they can choose their choice of college and would be able to perform all the previous practices via online procedure. This process is going to be a pacesetter in the process of curtailment of middle man in the B Ed admissions which has shelled many controversies previously as now the students are left free to chose their choice college after filling online. |
