EJAC condemns Govt's repressive measures against employees | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 17: Employees' Joint Action Committee (EJAC) has took strong exceptions to state Gover nment's frequent repressive measures including use of police force and breach of written agreement made with the State employees. In a day long session of the representatives of EJAC held here today to take stock of the situation arising out of the employees struggle launched for long pending agreed demands, the employees' leaders criticized the government for adopting adamant attitude towards their demands. While addressing the press conference Ram Kumar Sharma, Spokesman and State President said that the employees' struggle at present is at crucial juncture and scenario arising out of government's adamant and anti-employees policy, a fresh re-orientation of the entire employees' struggle is the need of the hour. Sharma said that the immediate task of EJAC is to consolidate the pro-struggle employees' ranks and to bring different employees' factions which are still outside the struggle's platform for broader unity. He informed that in this connection, EJAC has decided to hold a state level meeting at Srinagar on June 19 wherein threadbare discussion on the present trade union scenario will be held and future programmes for broader unity and struggle will also be chalked out. |
