| VO produces challan against Former TSWO Tangmarg | | | Srinagar, Feb 01 State Vigilance Organisation today produced challan against a former Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Tangmarg in the Court of Special Judge Anti Corruption Kashmir for demanding and accepting bribe of rupees five hundred.
Giving details of the case, a vigilance officer told News Agency of Kashmir that on 21.11.2005, one Mohd. Abdullah Mir R/o Qazipura Tangmarg lodged a written complaint with Police Station Vigilance Organisation Kashmir alleging that the accused Kowser Naqashbandi then posted as Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Tangmarg is demanding illegal gratification for release of Rs.21600/- as scholarship sanctioned by the Central Govt. under National Foundation of Communal Harmony Scheme in favour of children of his deceased son who was killed by militants in 1994.
Case FIR No. 34/2005 P/S VOK was registered and investigation taken up. In the course of investigation the Vigilance team laid a successful trap during which the accused Social Welfare Officer was caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs.500/-.
The tainted money was recovered from her possession in presence of independent witnesses.
After accord of sanction for prosecution by the Government the challan of the case was produced in the Court of Special Judge Anti Corruption Kashmir. The Hon’ble court has fixed the case for next hearing on 21.02.2007. |
