NPSU blasts PDD for power cuts in Jammu region | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 18 : Today National Panthers Students Union(NPSU) held a massive protest demonstration against PDD department for abnormal cuts in the Jammu in front of PDD office New Plot ,Jammu . The protest was led by YOGESH TALWAR (PROVINCIAL LEADER NPSU) and SAHIL MUSHTAQ (Jammu City Vice President). They strongly criticised the working of the department and alleged sheer discrimination with Jammu region. The duration of power cut extends from 10 to 15 hours a day during ;this scorching summer which has made the life of the people a hell. Sahil Mushtaq said that the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah concentrates more on basic facilities in the Valley which in no case should be at the cost of Jammu because there have been drastic cuts in these facilities at Jammu immediately after the move of Darbar. He also reminded the Chief Minister his commitment that 24 hours power will be supplied in the areas where there will be metering and now when there is 100 per cent metering in Jammu the power cuts extend from 10 to 15 hours. Addressing the media persons & protesters Yogesh Talwar (Provincial Leader NPSU) said that the power cuts have no time schedule and the curtailments continue the whole day and night up to 11, 12, 2’ o clock in whole night and the people even cant sleep. Talwar alleged the NC-Cong coalition Govt. has not taken any step to over come the power, and also the other problems of the region the coalition Govt and the Congress party has no interest in the development of the Jammu region and the discrimination with the Jammu region is at the peak. He futher said that NPSU warns that they will continue their protests at different region against PDD till power supply is rationalized. |
