Camp for distribution of land compensation held at Drabshala | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, June 17: Revenue Department Kishtwar along with Rural Development Department Drabshala held a revenue cum public grievances camp inside the premises of Block Development Office Drabshala. The aim and objective of organizing this camp is to distribute the land compensation among those families whose lands came under proposed construction site of 850 MW Rattle power project. Besides, MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, the camp was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue (Kishtwar) Rajesh Kumar Shavan, BDO Drabshala Akthar Hussain Qazi, GVK company head for 850 MW Rattle HEP Rakesh Khali, local Sarpanches and Panches. According to ACR Kishtwar Rajesh Kumar Shavan, revenue department has so far distributed Rs. 17 crore land compensation on account of land acquired for construction of 850 MW Rattle power projects, while remaining amount of Rs. 15 Crore will be distributed within in next one week. He said that in addition to Rs. 42 Crore deposited by the Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation with collector Land Acquisition Kishtwar, demand of Rs. 14 Crore compensation has also been sent to the concerned agency on account of compensation of structures and fruit bearing plants. He said that District administration Kishtwar complete the land acquisition process in record time and said that sufficient land has been handed over to the company for starting work on this prestigious power project. On this occasion MLA Inderwal G M Saroori also distributed Rs. 18 lacs cheques among 288 beneficiaries under BRGF plan for up gradation of house. The project will be constructed as a joint venture with Jammu & Kashmir State Power Development Corporation Ltd (JKSPDC) for procurement of power on a long-term basis from the 850 MW Rattle Hydro Electric Power Project to be constructed on river Chenab in mountainous Kishtwar District under Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT). As per the agreement, GVK will hand over the project to the state government after the period of 35 years from the date of commission of the power project. The project that will require an investment of around Rs 5000 crore is slated to be commissioned by 2017. |
