Callous approach of authorities forcing camp dwellers to suffer: Jagti migrants

Jammu, Jun 18: Office bearers and members of Jagti Tenement Committee Jagti Nagrota expressed their grave concern over lack of proper drinking water supplies in the Jagti Migrant Camp for past more than four days which has made the inmates of this migrant camp to suffer lot of hardships.
In a meeting held Near Block No. 75, in the Park today under the Presidentship of Shadi Lal Pandita, President of the Committee, the members expressed their grave concern over lack of proper drinking water supplies in the Jagti Migrant Camp for past more than four days which has made the inmates of this migrant camp to suffer lot of hardships.
Speaking on the occasion Pandita said that crores of rupees have been incurred on water supply scheme for Jagti Migrant Camp but unfortunately the water supplies are not proper to meet the domestic needs of the inmates of the migrant Camp.
Speakers said that the inmates of this Migrant Camp are also confronted to sufferings due to lack of proper power supplies particularly during these days of scorching heat, which has made the general masses to suffer in general and the old aged and minors in particular.
"The existing Motor has gone out of order due to electric short circuit and measures are being taken to arrange two motors for ensuring proper water supplies at an earliest, they said further warning if authorities concerned failed to fulfill their demands, the committee shall be left with no other alternative but to start agitation.
On this occasion they also demanded compensation for the over aged youth and appealed the government to remove all illegal encroachments of the Migrant Properties as well as Hindu Shrines in Kashmir Valley.
Among those who spokes in this meeting included M L Akhoon, M L Pandita, C L Bhat, B L Dhar, V K Bhan, Deepak Razdan, Rajinder Dhar, Sham Lal Tickoo, Satish Bhat, Satish Bhagati and Ramesh Bhat.
