Guv reviews Yatra preparedness; depute CEO to enroute Camps | Amarnath pilgrimage | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 18: Governor N N Vohra, who is Chairman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, chaired a review meeting here yesterday to take stock of the delays caused by the continuing inclement weather in the Yatra area. Recognizing the likely difficulties which may be caused because of the significantly slow melting of snows in the higher reaches of the Yatra area, the Chairman has despatched CEO, Navin K. Choudhary, and the Head, Engineering Division, R. K. Pandita, to visit each Camp and ensure completion of the required tasks well in time. As per the Chairman's directions, the CEO and his team shall spend the next three days on the tracks. The Chairman shall personally review arrangements at the Holy Cave, Panjtarni and Sheshnag Camps from June 21 onwards. Taking note of the serious difficulties faced at Sangam, the Chairman has ordered the deployment of two senior officers at this site. Consequently, a Camp has been set up at Sangam which has started functioning. |
