| DDC reviews Amarnath yatra arrangements | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, June 18: In the backdrop of the commencement of Holy Amarnath Yatra from June 25, a meeting was convened by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kathua to issue instructions to the various departments for the facilitation of the Yatra. The meeting was attended by prominent citizens, departmental heads and other civil society organizations.
DDC Kathua instructed the officials to make necessary arrangements for lodging of the pilgrims incase of an emergency like stopping the Yatra in between on account of bad weather.
Power department has been instructed to maintain continuous power supply whereas Police has been instructed to maintain Law and Order and also arrangement of basic medicines at Langars and other public places.
Municipal committee has been instructed to clear encroachment of any type to facilitate the Yatra. On the other hand ex Municipal president of Lakhanpur Municipality Susheel Gupta suggested to install suggestion and complaint boxes at various places so that the administration gets the proper feedback and improve its working. Other members requested to appoint an OSD (Officer on Special duty) to facilitate the Yatra. |
