| Under trial dies in Central Jail | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, June 18: An under trial brought to Rainawari Hospital by Central Jail authorities for treatment, was declared brought dead, police sources said. Police has registered a case under 174 CrPC in this regard.
"He has been identified as Ajaz Ahmad Malik,27 son of Ghulam Qadir resident of Urwan Newa, Pulwama, he said.
Police sources said that deceased was in judicial custody since May 5 in Central Jail Srinagar in case of FIR No. 211/2011 under section 15/18 NDPS Act of police station Pulwama.
The detainee was presently facing trial in the Court of Additional Sessions Judge, Pulwama. Police has initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC in this regard.
