PUC discusses audit para's, stresses for timely completion of Power Projects | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 19: Public Undertaking Committee (PUC) of Legislative Assembly today stressed upon the officers of Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKS PDC) to ensure timely completion of all under execution power projects in the State. The Committee, which met under the chairmanship of MLA Abdul Majid Wani, here discussed and reviewed the CAG's audit para pertaining to JKSPDC, besides the functioning of the Corporation. Discussing in detail on the audit para, the Committee decided that it will conduct on the spot inspection of Baghliar Hydle Electrical Project in the first week of July 2012. Legislators, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, G. A. Mir, Jugal Kishore, Ch. Zulfikar Ali, Bharat Bushan and Dr. Bashir Ahmad Shah (Veeri) gave their valuable suggestions to improve the working of the JKSPDC. The members suggested for imparting training to the labours engaged in the projects. The Committee stressed to aware general masses about the Electricity Act. It also suggested while preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPR's) for any Power Project, it may be ensured that the environment as well as the forests are not affected at any cost. Principal Secretary PDD Sudhanshu Panday briefed the Committee about achievements registered by the Corporation and audit para. Giving details of the JKSPDC, the Managing Director PDC Basharat Ahmad Dhar, said that the PDC will be profit earning Corporation in the State in near future.Principal Accountant General, J&K, Dr. Subash Chander Panday, Director General Accounts and Treasuries Wali Muhmmad Bhat, Development Commissioner PDC Manzoor Ahmad Salroo, Chief Engineer General PDC Malik Mansoor Walliyar and other officers and engineers of JKSPDC. |
