| NCC cadets demonstrate attack on enemy bunker | | | early times report
JAMMU, June 19: Amid slogans of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and noise of rocket launcher, machinegun and rifle fire, NCC Cadets demonstrated an attack on enemy bunker. This was demonstration of an Infantry Section in attack displayed by cadets at NCC Camping Ground Nagrota where 359 young cadets both boys and girls from Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Rajouri, Srinagar, Shopian and Bhaderwah districts wee camping for Combined Annual Training Camp from June 11 under the aegis of 2 J&K Bn NCC, Jammu Commanded by Col Rawel Singh.
Lieutenant Colonel OP Ojha, Dy Camp Commandant while briefing the press informed that NCC is the Prime youth organization which conducts All India Camps at National Level and Combined Annual Training Camps at State Level. In these camps the young cadets are being given military training like drill, weapon training, First Aids, field craft, battle craft besides general training like posture training, Yoga, games and cultural activities.
Highlighting today's event the Lt Col Ojha said that today we have taught the cadets how an Infantry Section which is the smallest organized sub-unit of the Army functions independently in the battle field. The programme concluded with the NCC song and National Anthem. |
