JAMMU, June 19: Outplaying JKCA Red by six wickets, Rising Star today sailed into the semifinals of the ongoing under-16 cricket tournament at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here. Elected to field first, after winning the toss, Rising Star bowled out JKCA Red for 151 runs in 34 overs of the 40 overs match and later overhauled the opponent total for the loss of four wickets in 36.3 overs. Virtual Bakshi made highest 26 runs while Ramandeep and Hitesh contributed 22 runs each. Abhishank added 15 runs to the JKCA Red total. From Rising Star, Tushar Antral was most successful bowler with five for 18 in seven overs while Rahul Sagotra took two. Ashish, Sahil Mahotra and Sahil Lotra shared apiece each.
Batting second, Rising Star attained the goal making 154 runs in 36.3 overs with six wickets in hand.Sahil Lotra played unbeaten innings of 54 runs while Sahil Mahotra contributed 45 runs. Vivrant Sharma added 15 runs. Hitesh took two wickets while Ramandeep and Virtual Bakshi shared one each from JKCA Red. Rajeev Sharma and Ajit Kumar were umpires in today match while Gourav Jamwal was scorer. |
