Div Com reviews arrangements in en-route Yatra districts | Amaranthji Yatra 2012 | | early times report jammu, June 19: The Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pardeep Gupta today reviewed the arrangements for smooth conduct of upcoming Amarnathji Yatra at a high level meeting also attended by the civil society members held here. The meeting, also attended by the deputy commissioners of districts falling en-route yatra in Jammu region, discussed threadbare the arrangements ranging from security, traffic regulation, provisions for water, power, sanitation , both at Jammu base camp and districts enroute Yatra. The arrangements for accommodation of the pilgrims along the yatra route in the eventuality of any emergency were also reviewed threadbare. The Divisional Commissioner sought full detail about the arrangements made by the district administrations enroute the Yatra and issued necessary instructions with regard to security, traffic regulation and healthcare arrangements for the devotees. Reviewing the preparations made in the districts en-route, he asked the administration heads to make elaborate arrangements for reception of the pilgrims in their respective districts, besides making elaborate provisions for security, accommodation and traffic regulation for smooth movement of yatris during normal days and also to meet emergency situation, including inclement weather conditions. The Divisional Commissioner instructed the concerned authorities to issue special sticker passes to the vehicles carrying Yatris right from Lakhanpur so that they are saved from being subjected to frequent checks during their onward journey to the cave shrine. The Divisional Commissioner sought the cooperation of the civil society including the religious social and volunteer organisations, besides business fraternity particularly those associated with tourism trade in ensuring every facility to the pilgrims of Himalayan cave shrine during their stay in Jammu. He asked the trader unions to help the administration in regulation of rates and keeping a check on overcharging by the traders and transporters operating between Jammu and Srinagar. He also sought cooperation from the local trusts and temple committees for making available accommodation for the pilgrims if required. Among others, IGP Jammu Dilbag Singh, Deputy Commissioner Jammu San-jeev Verma, DC Udha-mpur P K Pole, DC Kathua Zahida Khan, DC Samba Mubarak Singh, senior police functionaries, officers of various departments besides representatives/presidents of various civil and religious organizations attended the meeting.
