NSF alleges discrimination with unemployed Jammu youth | | | early times report jammu, June 19: The National Secular Forum leader criticized the State Government for heartless attitude against the jobless youth of Jammu region. They said the unemployment in Jammu is increasing by leaps and bounds and thousands of unemployed youth were struggling to get their rights. Addressing the meeting NSF State Vice-President Sukdev Singh alleged that it was due to wrong policies of Government that PhD holders, ITI Diploma holders, Physiotherapists, unemployed engineers, J&K Home Guards Association and several others unemployed PG students are protesting and to highlight their troubles and issues. He further condemned the rehabilitation policy of Government, which was only favouring the anti-national elements. The Government has ignored the educated youth thus compelling the common people to become militants or stone pelters for junk mail and other benefits. Members of NSF also raise voice against the various selection lists of the different department in which much preference has been given to the candidates belonging to the Kashmir regions. They also said that besides selecting more candidates from Kashmir Valley there were also reports of corruption and nepotism being involved in the every selection process. They added that while introducing new subjects in new colleges some of the subjects like Statistics, Home Science, Bio-chemistry, information Technology, Psychology, etc are completely ignored although they are doing very well at P.G level as well as in the job market. Singh appealed the student community that they have no other way left and hence be ready for struggle in one voice to get their proper rights. |
