JKP celebrate raising day, DGP highlights achievements of force | | | early times report SRINAGAR, June 19: Jam-mu and Kashmir Police, having rich tradition of valour and sacrifices since its establishment, has always remained on forefront to protect law of the land and maintain honour of the people. It has a long history of sacrifices for keeping the flag of the nation afloat. This was disclosed by the Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar while addressing a colourful function at Armed Police Headquarters Zewan the other day evening. The function was organised to celebrate Raising Day of Jammu and Kashmir Police. He said that the jawans and officers of the force exhibited their valour, discipline and courage, not only during peace times but have also shared the miseries of the people during disasters and foreign aggressions. The function was attended by a large number of officers and men from all wings of the force and various cultural prog-rammes, besides a parade was held on the occasion. The complex was highly decorated and was giving an attractive look. Families of the police personnel also attended the celebrations. Referring the years of turmoil, Rajendra said that it was great challenge for JKP but with the cooperation of the people, the force succeeded in facing the situation effectively. He said that the forces involved in the fight had to pay a great in the shape of precious lives but without caring for their comforts, the jawans and officers stepped forward and succeeded in restoring peace and safeguarding the lives and property of the people. The force is continuing its efforts to keep the peace maintained for which vigil has to be accelerated, said Rajendra. |
