NABARD launches three Farmers Clubs in Reasi | | | early times report jammu, June 19: NABA-RD, Udhampur has launched three Farmers Clubs namely Shiv Farmers Club and Luxmi Farmers Club at village Lower Sool and Peer Baba Farmers Club at village Chak Bhagta in Reasi district today. All the Clubs are sponsored by NABARD and have been promoted by Rural Artisans Welfare Society (RAWS), an NGO working in Reasi district in the field of micro Finance and rural development. All these Farmers Clubs are linked with Punjab National Bank, Katra. In this connection, a joint function for inauguration of the three Clubs was held in village Lower Sool. R L Lochan LDM, Reasi and Tilak Raj Sharma, AEO were present on the occasion. Rajiv Pandita, Secretary, RAWS was also present on the occasion. Apart from them, the Chief Volunteers of the Clubs, members of the Farmers Club and the farmers of the villages were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Manohar Lal, DDM, NAB-ARD congratulated the farmers for having shown interest in forming the Farmers Clubs. He said that the basic philosophy behind this prog-ramme has been the development of a force of dedicated volunteers from amo-ngst the good borrowers from the villages so as to disseminate the five principles of "Development through Credit" with a view to creating an appropriate climate in the villages for proper utilization of credit for the rural development process and timely recycling of funds. |
