| 2.84 lakh pilgrims visit Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine | | | KATRA, FEBRURY 01
Over 2.84 lakh pilgrims within and outside the state visited the holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi during the month of January this year.
During the corresponding period of last year 2.59 lakh pilgrims had darshan at the holy cave shrine.
In the second fortnight of January 2007 1.29 lakh devotees paid their obeisance at the holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi. Presently 7000 to 8000 pilgrims are reaching at the base camp Katra town for their onward journey to the holy cave shrine.
Besides rented, free accommodation for yatris is available in the shrine board inns at Adh Kunwari, Sanji Chhat and Bhawan. Blankets are also provided to the devotees free of charges on depositing prescribed security. |
