early times report
Kishtwar, June 19: The shifting of Sheep and Wool Development Office Kishtwar to Padder has triggered yet another battle between the MLAs of the ruling coalition.
According to reports, order No: DSHOK/Esstt/2012-13/530-45 dated 16-06-2012 issued by District Sheep Husbandry Officer Kishtwar has become the bone of contention between MLA Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori as the order issued in pursuance of Government Order No: 76 ASH dated 18-5-2012 seeks shifting of the Sheep & Wood Development Office Kishtwar to Padder Tehsil of Kishtwar constituency ,while MLA Inderwal is trying to shift the same at Chatroo Tehsil of Inderwal Constituency.
The concerned officer along with all his staff members stands relieved from the present posting and is directed to establish new office inside Block Veterinary Office Padder. As per the reports, MLA Inderwal opposed the move.
Report said that MLA Inderwal stated that during District Development Board meeting chaired by former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, it was decided that the said office will be established in Gandoh which is the part of erstwhile Doda district. Saroori further said that since Kishtwar district was granted district status and shifting of any office from Kishtwar can send wrong signals to various quarters. Instead he demanded its shifting to Chatroo.
Saroori further stated that Chatroo is having more nomadic population with maximum number of live stock as compared to Padder.
A senior Congress leader blamed Agga Rahullah, Minister for sheep and Animal Husbandry for pressurizing officials of Animal Husbandry department at the behest of MLA Kishtwar. He demanded shifting of the said office after taking all aspects into account including population, number of live stock and movement of nomadic population during summer.

The government order approves shifting but is silent about the place where it is to be set up. The sources further said that shifting of Sheep and Wool Development Office Kishtwar also directly affected the posting of one of the relatives of MLA Inderwal who was posted in this office only few months ago. The order is likely to be challenged in the court of law.
