Mufti sweats in Jammu for PDP | | | early times report Jammu, June 19: Even as former Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed dares scorching heat of Jammu, Omar Abdullah has hardly visited the city of temples ever since shifting of offices to summer capital in April. He was recently in Udhampur in connection with the passing out parade of police officers. He also visited Rajouri to interact with the students of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University. Mufti has made his intentions clear by visiting far flung areas to strengthen his party in the region. He has also urged his workers to stage protests for sufficient quantity of electricity, water and proper roads. Mufti is also seen addressing seminars in the city which provides him an opportunity to interact with the civil society members. He happens to be the only politician from the Valley to hold May day function in Jammu successfully. He has also been giving tough time to BJP and the Congress by visiting their strong bastions regularly. Political observers say Mufti is rightly investing in Jammu to gain ground in Jammu. According to them, the vacuum created by BJP has been effectively utilized by Mufti. Scared by Mufti's growing popularity in Jammu, the National Conference also sent its additional general secretary to the Chenab region recently. |
