Abdul Gani of Punjab wins Bhagani Kesari dangal

JAMMU, June 20: Wrestler Abdul Gani of Mallarkotla in Punjab bagged the 33rd Annual Bhagani Kesari Dangal title. For the main bout, played at Bhagani in Bhalwal, Gani defeated Amit of Chandigarh Police. Winner of the title, Abdul Gani was presented a cash award of Rs 15,000 while runners-up, Amit received Rs 10,000 from chief guest, SDPO Akhnoor, Mazghar Shah and president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma.
State general secretary of BSP, Rakesh Wazir, Sarpanch Subash Chander Sharma, working president, District Reasi Indian Style Wrestling Association, Papu Lakri and District Udhampur Horticulture Officer Vrinder Kumar Sharma were guests of honour.
About 44 bouts played in this dangal which was organised by Dangal Committee Bhagani in Association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
In second main bout, wrestler Parveen of Lilu Akhara Ladpur Haryana defeated wrestler Benia while Vikas of Khanna downed Deepak of Chandigarh in the third bout. The fourth bout went to Jakker of Jammu after he trounced Yasin of Alamgir (Punjab) and fifth bout was bagged by Shiv of Khanna beating Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhawal.
Other Results: Dalip Singh of Reasi beat Bagga of Seri, Makhan Singh of Dhar Dhocha beat Balkar of Marh, Amir Khan of Jammu beat Davinder of Amritsar, Anwar of Nargada beat Billu of Domana, Akram of Jammu beat Arjun of Domana, Bhim of Rajsthan beat Parsotam of Jammu, Murad Ali of jammu beat Vijay of Amritsar, Kaka of Nawashar beat Nawaj Ali of Mallerkotla, Satnam of Rajasthan beat Mukesh of Jhiri, Bobari of Jammu beat Rana of Amritsar. Bouts between Tittu of Nawashar and Bagga of Domana and Asif of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu and Shiv of Khanna ended in a draw.Abdul Gani of Punjab wins Bhagani Kesari dangal.
