Nitin's ton powers JKCA Blue to huge win | Under-16 knock-out tourney of JKCA | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 20: Brilliant century by Nitin Jamwal and equally good batting from Suryansh Raina today guided JKCA Blue to a big 155 runs win over Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy (MGCA) on way to the final of the ongoing Under-16 knock-out cricket tournament at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here. Now, in the title clash, JKCA Blue shall take on Rising Stars XI. Earlier, both left handers, Nitin and Suryansh provided JKCA Blue a strong platform through a record first wicket stand of 234 runs in 36 overs. However, both of them lost their wickets in an attempt to accelerate the score and JKCA Blue innings ended at 257 for two in given 40 overs. In reply, MGCA could not chase the total and bowled out for 102 runs in 34 overs. While Nitin made 134 runs off just 101 deliveries with the help of 12 boundaries while Suryavansh Raina contributed 72 runs and Shubham Pundir remained unbeaten at 12. From MGCA, Anshul took one wicket. Batting second, MGCA could not face the bowling wrath of JKCA Blue and lost their wickets on regular intervals thus making and end to their innings at 102 in 34 overs. Tushar and Arjun were main scorers with 22 and 29 runs respectively. Suransh added 17 runs. From JKCA Blue, Sahil Chib claimed four wickets, followed by Shantanu, who took two. In today's semifinal, Sandeep Singh and Deepak Dogra were umpires while Abhishek maintained the score. |
