| One-day training programme organized by KVK, SKUAST-J | | | JAMMU, FEBRURY 01
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, SKUAST-J R.S Pura organized one –day training at village Karotana, tehsil R.S Pura under the overall guidance and supervision of Programme Coordinator KVK, R.S Pura, Mr Rakesh Nanda.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Rakesh Bandral, SMS, KVK highlighted the laid functions of KVK and advised the farmers to established their own farm units like mushroom growing, mushroom preservation, bee keeping, flower cultivation, poultry, dairy farming and vermicomposting.
Programme Assistant KVK, Dr Poonam Parihar who conducted the training programme apprised the farmers and farm women and dropouts about the techniques of mushroom processing and preservation, nutritive and therapeutic values of mushroom. She gave practical demonstrations on mushroom byproducts. She laid thrust upon the great need of women entrepreneurship in agriculture. She also deliberated upon the formation and strengthening of Self Help Groups (SHG) for establishment of their own small business ventures.
Besides lectures and practical demonstration, the programme also included discussions and interaction between the participants and the technical staff of KVK. Handouts and printed material was also distributed among the participants.
