Rajendra commissions Police Auditorium at PHQ

SRINAGAR, June 20: The Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar threw open Auditorium in Police Headquarters at a simple but impressive function this morning. The Auditorium has been carved from the existing infrastructure and has been completed within a record period of time.
While dedicating the Auditorium, Rajendra said that it was a long pending requirement of the Organization and with the completion of this modern Auditorium, all departmental conferences, seminars and debates could be organized. Besides we would be able to conduct cultural and other indoor activities in the Auditorium which has been equipped with latest facilities, he said
Rajendra disclosed that the Auditorium having seating capacity of more than 250 audience is a state of art with traditional Kashmiri woodwork utilized in decorating the Auditorium. Police Housing Corporation completed the work within a record period of time. He said in the absence of full-fledged Auditorium, the Organization had to hire conference halls to conduct the departmental activities. He added that such facility is already available in Jammu, however the need was felt to establish the facility at Srinagar too.
The DGP said that the Organization is focussing to provide facilities to its personnel at all levels including living and recreational facilities. He said that such facilities would also be provided at district level also. He disclosed that state police has been focussing on up-gradation of all components and a dedicated effort has been made during past years to utilize the funds in the areas of office automation and enhancing infrastructure abilities in the entire Organization.
He said that this was necessitated due to the increased manpower in the force during past some years and the Organization has undertaken various schemes to accommodate its personnel in the far-flung areas of the state. Among others, the function was attended by ADsGP, Dr. Ram Lubhaya, Dr. S. P. Vaid, Smt. D. R. Doley and Naveen Aggewal, IsGP, Dr. Srinivas, A. K. Chowdhary, H. K. Lohia, Deepk Kumar, Rauf-ul-Hassan, M. Sulaiman Salaria, Dr. K.K.Saini, P. R. Manhas, Alok Puri, A. Q. Manhas, DIsGP, T. Namgiyal A. S. Bali, A. Mujataba, M.M. Sdiqiq, AIG (Personnel) Ghulam Hassan Bhat, AIG (Buildings), Shabir Ahmed and other police offices.
