| Sham inaugurates health Staff quarters at Batote 8Says more health reforms in offing | | | early times report
jammu, June 20: Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma today inaugurated newly constructed health employees staff quarters at Batote of Ramban . Involving a cost of Rs.130.50 lakh, the 3-storey building was completed by the PWD (R&B) division Ramban in a time bound manner. The newly constructed 3-storey building has three sets in each storey spread over an area of 3476.68 sq feet. Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the quarters, Sham said more reforms would be introduced to improve the healthcare and other facilities across the state. He said during the past over three years the government has initiated several revolutionary steps to upgrade the overall health scenario and now the change is visible on ground and well acknowledged by the common masses.
The Minister said that steps are afoot to establish health institutions in the uncovered areas purely on merit basis. He said recognizing the tough terrain and difficult living conditions, the central government has declared Doda and Kishtwar as high focused districts eligible for grant of special funding under health sector. Sham appreciated the people's wisdom to contribute greatly for restoration of peace in the state and extending support to the government to carry forward development on fast track. He said with restoration of peace the state is ha been recording huge influx of tourists and pilgrims opening new avenues of economic activities and jobs for youth. He appealed the people to continue their support to the government to realize the dream of prosperous Jammu and Kashmir. He asked Sarpanchs, Panchs to monitor the punctuality of staff in health institutions to enforce better work culture and accountability.
He said that government has conferred the responsibility on the Panchayat functionaries to supervise and monitor the basic services at halqa level so that the people get the improved and uninterrupted services. He asked them to help in proper upkeep of all the health institutions in the area besides maintaining close coordination with the medical staff to ensure best services. Later, the Minister visited the construction site of Fruit and Vegetable Mandi at Batote. He order the concerned to formulate a comprehensive plan for creation of much needed facilities for the farmers and also demarcate the land within 10 days. Among others, MLA Ramban, Ashok Kumar, DDC, Director Health Jammu, Director Floriculture, Director Horticulture and other officers were present on the occasion. |
