6/20/2012 11:41:33 PM
early times report
jammu, June 20 : To ensure maximum participation in its June 22 country wide 'Jail Bharo Andolan', BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, accompanied by State General Secretary Sat Sharma , Jammu District President Rajesh Gupta and senior leader Bansi Lal Bharti, chaired meetings in various wards of the city here today. Manhas held meetings at W Nos. 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, 11, 15, 18, 24, 25, 26, 34, 36 and 37 of Jammu East and Janipur mandals.
Addressing the party activists in these wards, Shamsher Singh Manhas said that there has been massive resentment against the present Congress-led UPA through out the country as this coalition has given all time high corruption, price-rise and scams. Despite protests, agitations and hunger strikes, the UPA has not taken any effective steps to check all this.
He said that the BJP has always been raising the issues related to the survival of a common Indian citizen as well as the national interests through various democratic means.
It is in this context that the party at the national level has decided to observe June 22 as Jail Bharo din when party activists will be courting arrests at all the district levels in the country.
In Jammu and Kashmir also our cadre is being prepared through these meetings to come and court arrests with the senior leaders of the party, including the Member of Parliament Smriti Irani.
He also appealed the general public to come out in large numbers and court arrests alongwith the BJP activists as the issues being protested are related to each and every citizen.
