| NC demands restoration of work on Macchedi- Drabar road | | | early times report
jammu, June 20 : National Conference Provincial Secretary, Jammu Sheikh Bashir Ahmad has expressed serious concern over the stoppage of work on Macchedi- Drabar road by the PMGYS department at Badnota. Ahmad said that the 34 Kms long road has been taken up by the PMGYS which completed the earth work up to village Badnota in Lohai- Malhar block 20 days back. The work has been stopped by the contractors for the last 20 days reasons best known to them. These are the only working days in this hilly belt. The people of the area were expecting completion of this earth work up to Drabar by ending June, he added. NC leader said that The people of this area are the worst sufferers due to non-availability of road connectivity while this important scheme is suffering due to some deep rooted conspiracies. He appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene personally so that the earth work is started from Badnota onwards and these crucial days are not wasted . Bashir Ahmad also demanded that work on Sukrala - Machhedi road should be expedited which has been taken by the PMGSY. |
