Woman swindler- an army officer's wife identified

Jammu, June 20: The woman swindler who swindled number of traders in posh localities and had become headache for the police and traders finally has been identified by police after hectic attempts, police sources said.
According to sources the accused who had atleast six cases of cheating at different police stations in winter capital has been identified namely as Archana Choudhary wife of Major Dinesh Choudhry presently posted with army unit at Nagrota in 8 Sikh
regiment in Jammu.
"The accused woman had two cases been registered against her in Gandhi Nagar police station, two at Nowabad police station and two in City police station", sources said.
A senior police officer on anonymity said that she was not arrested yet though her identification has been made.
Pertinent to mention that swindler cheated shopkeepers in Gandhinagar twice in a day and executed his looting plan consecutively at three places in three days in the city with the help of two armed PSOs in army uniform.
On Tuesday noon the woman along with two PSOs landed at Apple Kids showroom in Gandhinagar and purchased different items valuing Rs 43,000. She provided her debit card for clearing bill but the card was not matching with her account. On this she pretended that she wrongly took this card and asked cashier to send his employee with her as she will hand over bill amount after withdrawing from ATM. Since she was accompanied with PSOs, the shopkeeper relied on her and sent a man with her in the army vehicle along with her shopping stuff already purchased by her. In the way employee of the shopkeeper was given sever thrashing by the PSOs and pushed down from vehicle and run away. The employee returned back and narrated the whole story to the shop owner. The owner of the shop, Puja Kochar later lodged a complaint with the police.
While police was investigating the matter another similar complaint was also reported in the police station by another victim Arvinder Kour store incharge Patel Children Wear Shastri Nagar of being duped articles amounting to Rs. 10,000. Police registered two different cases under FIR No176 and 177 under the relevant laws and started investigation.
All this has encouraged her and then the lady visited to City Square Mall and after having shopping from the big branded and exclusive show rooms she again played the same trick and decamped with her shopping from the scene e. Two more FIRs were registered against her in Nowabad police station. Besides this woman also cheated two businessmen in Ragunath Bazaar subsequently the cases were registered with City police station.
