Cultural Academy, HAS observe Hajni day

srinagar, June 21: The death anniversary of noted scholar, writer and intellectual Prof Mohi-ud-Din Hajni was observed today at Hajin, Sonawari in north Kashmir. The function was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with the Halqa Adab Sonawari (HAS).
The first session of the annual Hajini Day was presided over by Chief Information Commissioner, GR Sufi while the second session proceedings were presided over by deputy chairman, legislative council, M Y Taing. While speaking on the occasion the speakers highlighted the life and literary works of late Hajni, describing him as a great, scholar and teacher who worked tirelessly for the promotion of Kashmiri language and literature.
Reiterating the pledge to take forward the mission of late Hajni, the speakers called upon the writers and intellectuals to emulate his footprints. Earlier in his address, Chief Information Commissioner highlighted the need to emulate the qualities of the late scholar for promotion of literature and culture.
