| ‘Enemies of Bhaderwah raised slogans against Lal’ | | | BHARAT BHUSHAN
JAMMU, June 21: The people, by and large have expressed surprise over anti-Shyam Lal slogans in Bhderwah. Shyam Lal, who happens to be the Health Minister of the state, is held in high esteem by the people for his pro-people mindset. Saner elements went to the extent of saying that the elements who raised slogans against the minister were enemies of Bhaderwah. Lal is accused of saying that four doctors were enough for sub-district hospital, Bhderwah in the Board meeting. However, officials privy to the meeting said the minister made no such comment. Official sources privy to the board meeting, however, said Sham had made no such remark for which the people got agitated. The minister was, however, not available for his comments. Sources said the sanctioned strength of doctors in SDH, Bhaderwah, was 37 but it had a total of 10 medicos at present. When the hospital already had 10 doctors, how he could say that only four were adequate for its smooth running, the sources added, saying the statement was being wrongly attributed to the minister.
Some people who talked to Early Times said: "Whenever a VIP visits Bhaderwah, they join hands to protest against him. Before demonstrating, they ought to have sought clarification from the minister," they said. |
