Early Times Report
Jammu, June 22 : The Jammu Kashmir Movement for Peace and Justice (JKMPJ) today questioned role of Chief Minister viz-a-viz encouraging the civil society for administrative functioning.
Earlier the Chief Minister while addressing a routine meeting of the Movement here today hailed integrating growing role of civil society for administrative functioning. The Movement termed Omar's statement as a gimmick to appease the galleries. "Can the CM justify his own role towards any such encouragement?", the Movement questioned. The Movement held that the present Indian political system seems reluctant towards development of any integrated civil society due to its anxious and selfish approach, Movement added. "Power for wealth and wealth for power is the agenda of our top nexuses i.e. politicians-bureaucrats-Police in the prevailing situations around having almost no scope of ant civil society", Movement added. While discussing the recent alarming exposures in news papers related to dangers of unlimited solid waste in all districts of the state, deteriorating health (women health in particular) and school education conditions and increasing use of drugs among the youth of state, Movement expressed its worries towards the expected threats for coming generations and asked Chief Minister to explore a role of civil society from this very point.
Appointment of CVC of the state is a sensitive affair and need to be decided on fair grounds and consensus, Movement further added.
Movement also appreciated the decision of "Raj Bhawan" to return the CVC appointment file to the coalition state government for reconsideration. Movement also urged the Chief Minister for taking an appropriate decision based on fair consensus. S Deep Singh, Kuldeep Kumar Rao, Dr. GS Charak, S.Gurtaj Singh, Pankaj Sangral, RL Raina, Kalyan Singh Chib, Pardeep Kumar Bhagat and JS Chib also attended the meeting.
