Health minister pays surprise visit to Gandhinagar hospital | Exhorts medicos to make dedicated efforts for better healthcare | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 22 : Appreciating the efforts of the doctors, para-medicos for providing better medicare facilities to the patients in the state, the minister for health, Sham Lal Sharma exhorted upon the functionaries to put in their sincere efforts in achieving the new goals in healthcare sector and keep the faith that is reposed by patients in their profession This was stated by the minister on his surprise visit to government Gandhi Nagar hospital. Minister visited emergency wards, surgery, ortho, x-ray, blood bank, sick care unit and S.N.C.U Unit etc and enquired about the facilities being provided to the patients. He also interacted with patients and their attendants. He asked the medicos and para-medicos to work with honesty and dedication and maintain the credibility of this noble profession. Sham said that in take capacity of the hospital has been increased to cater the patients from the periphery areas. The Minister directed the hospital administration to upgrade the stabilizers and install the high power generator set in the premises of the hospital to mitigate the ongoing power crisis. He also ordered the Superintendent Hospital to install indoor wards gate within 10 days and maintain hygiene and sanitation around the hospital premises. On the security issue, the minister assured for early deployment of private security in the hospital premises and directed the hospital administration to manage the number of visitors and attendants so that it may not affect the smooth functioning of the hospital Minister further said that improvement of healthcare infrastructure and facilities especially in the rural and far-flung has been accorded high priority and adequate funds are being sanctioned for the purpose. He said that the pressure on secondary and tertiary care hospitals would decrease when rural healthcare centres are upgraded and modernized to cater to the requirements of the patients. He also said that number of district hospital, SDH, PHC were upgraded in the state and all steps willbe taken to provide adequate staff in these health institutions. On the occasion, Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr. Madhu Khullar, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Gupta, senior doctors and para-medicos were also present. |
