Sarthal Devi Yatra to commence from June 27

kishtwar, June 22 : Shri Sarthal Devi's yatra, which is held annually on Harshudi Ashtimi and Navami according to the Lunar calendar on the occasion of Birth anniversary of the holy deity. This year the auspicious days will fall from June 27 to 29.
A meeting of the management council was held under the chairmanship of Thakur Jugal Bhandari vice chairman Sarthal Devi ji management council Kishtwar to chalk out the programme and finalization of arrangement of the yatra.
During the meeting, the management stressed upon the authorities to declare holidays on June 27 and 28 keeping in view the religious sentiments of the community.
As per the statement issued by the Sarthal Devi management on June 27 Hawan, Bhajan, Kirtan and other religious ceremonies will be performed at Shri Gori Shanker Mandir Sarkoot launching pad of the Yatra.
Shobha yarta will start from Shri Gori Shanker Mandir Sarkoot Kishtwar around 2 p.m after" Puran Aahuti ' on same day, then it will reach Bus stand Kishtwar at about
4 pm from where the Sarthal Devi Yatra will leave the Bus Stand Kishtwar through buses and matadors and reach the temple by evening.
The management has arrangements for evening meals (vegetarian) and lodging for night halt free of cost at Mandir Bhawan.
On June 28 Chandi Hawan which started 3 days earlier will be concluded, in addition to Hawan, Bhajan, Kirtan will also be performed and on June 29 after Bhajan-Kirtan, Prasad will be served to all yatries and thereafter the Yatra will left the temple and started back journey to Kishtwar.
