ASP Benam suspends two guilty Cops, SSP Wani revokes order...?
It happened in Udhampur

Early Times Report
Jammu, June 22: In what could be termed as "infighting" in policing, district police circle Udhampur recently observed how a senior officer reprimanded subordinate staff for dereliction of duty and how that senior's senior turned down the punishment as if it was "unwarranted".
The incident is not much old. About a week back, a senior police officer after detecting indiscipline while on duty placed two police personnel under suspension. However, after few days, both the police personnel appeared before the district police chief, who revoked the suspension of duo, made by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP).
Interestingly, nothing came in black and white, which further raises doubt that if the senior police officer of the rank of ASP did not apply his mind while placing the duo under suspension or what were the "other reasons" wherein the duo were not punished.
While Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Udhampur, Ashkoor Ahmad Wani as well as ASP, Udhampur, Benam Tosh were not available for comment, despite repeated attempts, reliable sources in police confirmed that, ASP, Benam Tosh, a week ago, visited police station, Udhampur for a surprise checking. When Benam Tosh reached the premises, he saw a person relaxing in a room meant for police personnel. He inquired the matter. He was informed that the person was under arrest.
"Sensing the matter as fishy, he immediately checked who was responsible for allowing an accused to roam freely at police station instead of keeping him behind bars. He placed the two police personnel under suspension," shared sources and further added that, "after few days, the duo appeared before SSP, Udhampur and pleaded their case and informed him that they were already under transfer to Ramban district."
"SSP, Udhampur did not discuss the matter with ASP, Udhampur and revoked the suspension for the reasons best known to him," sources further revealed.
