| Soz loyalists abstain from Azad rally | | Fissures in Congress become more visible | | Emroz SURI
RAJOURI, June 23: The Soz loyalists made no bones about their differences with the former Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad. None of them attended Azad’s rally at Nowshera, Rajouri today. The rally was organized to commemorate the 7th death anniversary of former MLA and Cabinet Minister, Baili Ram who also happens to be the father of former cabinet minister, Dr Ramesh Sharma.
Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Deputy CM Tara Chand, and Minister for Tourism Nawang Rigzin Jora, Minister for Cooper-ative Affairs, Manohar Lal Sharma,
Ex-Forest Minister Puran Singh Thakur and think tank of other senior Congress leaders attended the programme. But no congress face associated with Soz lobby of congress was visible.
Sources said MLC and PCC Chief spokesman Ravinder Sharma and senior Congress leader from Darhal, Iqbal Malik stayed away from the programme. MLC Ravinder Sharma who belongs to Sunderbani area which falls under Nowshera Legislative constituency also remained absent thus bringing to fore the differences between the two factions of Congress.
