| Unregistered yatris will not be allowed to proceed to Holy Cave: DGP | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 24: Expressing satisfaction over the security arrangements in place for smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra, Director General of Police (DGP) K Rajendra Kumar has said unregistered Yatris will not be allowed to proceed to the Holy cave. "Strict instructions have been given not to allow unregistered yatris to proceed for the yatra", said the DGP ."Yatris without a valid medical certificate will not be allowed either", he added. The police chief said fool proof arrangements have been put in place for thorough checking of documents of yatris at different check points. The officer expressed satisfaction over the arrangements done for smooth conduct of the yatra. "All arrangements are finalized, reviews have been done, we hope yatra is conducted smoothly", said K Rajendra. Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Farooq Ahmad Shah told KNS all arrangements have been done and the administration is geared up to ensure a smooth yatra. "Provided weather remains good, Yatra will be smooth. All arrangements of communication, water, electricity etc. have been finalized", said Shah. "Around 5000 yatris are expected to leave tomorrow for the holy cave and all facilities including Camps are in place", said Shah. |
