| SKCC, ASC win ties in Sopore T20 | | | early times report
srinagar, June 25: Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Club (SKCC) and Amateur Sports Club (ASC) Badambagh won their respective matches to advance in the ongoing Ist Sopore Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Khushal Sports Stadium Sopore, here today. In the first match of the day, SKCC defeated Khushal Sports Tulibal by 64 runs. Batting first after winning the toss, SKCC set a target of 134 runs for the loss of seven wickets, which, in reply, Khushal Sports Tulibal could not chase and bowled out for 69 runs in 19 overs. For his superb innings of 71 runs, Muneeb of SKCC was declared man of the match. Meanwhile, in the second match of the day, ASC Badambagh trounced Junior Stars Sopore by 29 runs. Batting first, ASC made 152 for the loss of nine wickets. In reply, Junior Stars could not chase the total and exhausted their quota of overs for 123 runs with seven wickets in hand. Nasir Ahmad of the winning ASC was declared man of the match for his fine innings of 34 runs. This tournament is organized by District Police Sopore under the aegis of DIG North Kashmir, Baramulla. It is for the first time that Police is organizing such a grand sports event in Sopore. |
