| Excise employees hold protest demonstration | | | JAMMU | FEB 1
A protest demonstration was held under the banner of All J&K Excise and Commercial Taxes Employees Association against the government’s decision of fresh recruitment. The demonstration was held in front of the Excise and Commercial Taxes Complex, here today under the leadership of state president of the association Adil Rashid Khan.
While addressing the gathering, Khan stressed upon the state government to cancel the new selection list whereby the government is appointing new candidates against their posts in which they have been working for the last 8 years.
He further said that 4000 employees, who were appointed by the government in different departments, under the same government order No. 1786 GAD-dated 11-11-1997 should be allowed to continue their jobs.
He further added that the association will carry out a protest rally from Panama Chowk to Indira Chowk on February 3. He further added that they will continue their protest till demands are meted out.
