NSS organizes regional training camp | | | Early Times Report
Jammu , June 25: The National Sample Survey Office, Field Operation Division in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme implementation, Government of India has organized a three days Regional Training Camp of NSS 69th Round in the Seminar Hall of Post Graduate Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Jammu from 25th to 27th June 2012. The training is attended by the officers and field staff from the Regional Office, NSSO (FOD), Jammu, Sub Regional Office, Udhampur and some field officers of the Directorate of Economic and Statistics, Government of Jammu and Kashmir. The NSS 69th Round is earmarked for data collection on "Drinking Water, Sanitation, Hygiene, Housing Condition" and Survey on Slums". The Main objective of survey is to collect date on drinking water like; sources and sufficiency, distance of the source and quality of drinking water, data on housing conditions and particulars of slums in J&K. The three days training programme was inaugurated by Sher Singh, Deputy Director General, Regional Office, NSSO (FOD), Government of India, Jammu. In his inaugural address, Singh highlighted the role of National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) in developing a sound statistical data base for the use by planners and policy makers, researchers and various other agencies at the national and international level. The training will be impacted by Kishore Kumar, Director and A. K. Razdan Superintending Officer, Regional Office NSSO (FOD), Jammu. |
