Rs. 65.88 cr Annual Plan approved for Samba | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, June 25 : The Plan of Rs. 65.88 Crore for District Samba was approved which includes Rs.44.41 Crore as Capital Component and Rs. 21.47 Crores as revenue component in a meeting of District Development Board (DDB) Samba held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister, J&K, Tara Chand. Minister for Industries and Commerce, Surjit Singh Slathia, Minister of State, for Haj, Auqaf & Fisheries, (Vice Chairman, DDB, Samba), Ajaz Ahmed Khan, Vice Chairperson, J&K State Advisory Board for Welfare of SC, Swarn Lata, MLA Ramnagar, Harshdev Singh, MLA Samba, Yash Paul Kundal, MLA, Hiranagar, Durga Dass, MLA Bishnah Ashwani Kumar Sharma and MLC Noor Hussain were also present in the meeting. The District Development Commissioner, Samba Mubarak Singh gave a detailed account of physical and financial achievements for the financial year 2011-12 and proposed an annual plan for the financial year 2012-13.It was revealed that an amount of Rs. 5519.61 Lacs was made available to the District during the year 2011-12, against which an amount of Rs. 5509.63 lacs was expended enabling 99.82 % target achievement during the financial year. DDC further informed that a check dam at Taloor, Samba has been taken up at an estimated cost of Rs.14.71 Crore which is nearing completion and shall generate CCA of 500 Ha., besides the commissioning of 17 irrigation tube wells which will be beneficial for the farming community. He further informed that under Gujjar and Bakerwal Sector, an amount of 24.99 lacs has been provided as pre-matric scholarship to 3126 ST Students , beside Rs. 99.73 lacs was distributed under SC& OBC Sector wherein Pre. Matric scholarship to 9772 SC Students and 1263 OBC Students was provided.He also highlighted that under the flagship programme MG-NREGA, the District had fetched an amount of Rs. 2488.39 Lacs from Govt. of India in comparison to Rs. 630.30 Lacs during the year 2010-11. He also informed that during the year 2011-12, under MG-NREGA as against the availability of an amount of Rs.2488.39 Lacs, an amount of Rs. 2077.78 Lacs was expended which generated 8.95 Lacs Mandays for job card holders in the rural areas. He further informed that special focus has been given for the rejuvenation/renovation of water bodies like ponds, wells etc. under MG-NREGA and till now 351 water bodies have already been developed and 204 are under renovation/development and expected to be completed before the ensuing rainy season for harvesting of rain water. Dy. CM while appreciating the progress of various sectors in District Samba said that public representatives and officers should work with zeal and enthusiasm for the overall development of the state. He exhorted upon the officers to complete the works in a time bound manner without compromising the quality of works. He also directed the DDC to constitute the committees for regular monitoring of the pace and quality of the works being executed. He also showed his concern over the incidents of wild fire and appealed to the public to take precautionary measures to prevent these incidents.He also directed the PHE and PDD to work in coordination for smooth power and water supply. |
