Rain, light snowfall bring temperature down in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, June 26 : Rain in the plains and light snowfall in the upper reaches of the Kashmir Valley have pushed the mercury below normal. Met department spokesperson said the upper reaches in the valley, including Sheshnag, Pisso top, Sonamarg top and Gulmarg heights received fresh snowfall early this morning. Plains, including Srinagar, were lashed by heavy rain resulting in considerable drop in the temperature. In summer capital, Srinagar, yesterday, the minimum temperature was 24.8 degrees Celsius, six notches below normal following 2.5 mm rainfall.The minimum temperature this morning was also two degrees below normal. He has forecast light rain, thundershowers at few places in Kashmir and Jammu divisions during next 24 hours. The Ladakh region will remain dry, he said. Sky will remain partly cloudy in the Valley tomorrow, he added. |
