| Three killed, 3 injured in road accident | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, June 26 : Three persons including a couple got killed while equal number got injured when a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the famous 'Mughal Road' at Dugra Shikargalla point late last night.
All the three seriously injured were rushed to Rajouri district hospital but later shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu keeping in view their critical condition.
According to sources, a Tata mobile vehicle was on its way from Darhal area of Rajouri district to valley through Mughal road. When the vehicle reached Dugra Shikargalla point of road it skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at 2:30 pm last night.Although locals of the area and police tried their best to start rescue operation at night but to no avail the area has tough topography and was under darkness. Early in the morning rescue teams managed to bring all the passengers out of gorge where three people were pronounced dead while other three injured were rushed to local hospital from where they were shifted to district hospital Rajouri. However, due to their critical injuries they have further been referred to GMCH Jammu.
Those who have died in this accident include a couple identified as Sahab Din and his wife Wazir Bi residents of Leera village of Darhal while driver of the vehicle Mohd. Sharif has also lost his life in the accident.
The injured have been identified as Shahida Akhter wife of Mohd Kabir resident of Leera and her daughter Iram Akhter. The third injured passenger is daughter of the decade couple Shazia Akhter resident of Leera. Police have registered a case and the investigation was under progress. |
