ACI organizes slogan writing, Painting Competition

Darhal, June 27: On the eve of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking Attitude Change International (ACI) organised Slogan Writing and Painting competition in Budhal and Darhal areas of Rajouri District this week.
While join the global fight against drug abuse, the Darhal based Peace NGO organized an interschool cum College slogan writing competition on drug abuse prevention at Govt. Degree College Budhal. Students of several Govt and private schools in Budhal including Higher Secondary School, Govt. Girls High school, MEM High school, Motherland Public High School, Budhal Cooperative School of Education and Degree College took part in the competition.
Winners were given attractive prizes and certificate of appreciation in a seminar where speakers shed the light on the ill-effects of drug abuse and its prevention. Mohd Azam of GDC Budhal won 1st prize whereas Paviter Singh of HSS Budhal and Tariq Aziz of GDC Budhal got 2nd prize . Ali Haider Shah of HSS, Shahnawaz of GDC and Ziafat Hussain of MEM shared third prize. Principal of HSS Budhal Lal Hussain and ZEO (Retd.) Abdul Qayum Malik were the guest of honour and chief guest on the occasion respectively. Dr. Mohd Sajar representing Principal, GDC Budhal presided over the function whereas Prof. Abdul Razaq conducted the proceedings. A large number of college and school students, civil society representatives, educationists, intellectuals and officials attended the programme.
Later, the paintings and slogans were displayed at brain storming session on drug abuse prevention in J&K at Amar Singh Club Hall, Jammu on June 25th, a joint venture of Gunjan - Himachal Pradesh, J&K Confederation of Social and Voluntary and Charitable organizations, Attitude Change International and several others NGOs.
Both the programmes were supported by Regional Resource and Training Centre North II of Ministry of Social Justice.
