One injured in Bhaderwah Tourism Festival clash | | | early times report KISHTWAR, June 27 : Tension gripped Bhaderwan town late last evening as two groups clashed during a musical night show at Boys higher Secondary School Doda on the 3rd day of the on-going Bhaderwah tourism festival. The slash left one person wounded. The clash was triggered when a girl, Shazia basher sang a Naa't. The Naa't irritated the members of the majority community. They objected to singing of a Naa't on musical beats particular community. They urged the organizers (Bhaderwah Development Authority not to allow such stuff in future. However, the lady continued to sing and some persons, probably under the influence of alcohol started dancing. This triggered the clash. Someone threw a chair at the dias causing injuries to an employee of the BDA who was later identified as Tariq Chowdhary. The situation was brought under control when police swung into action and dispersed the mob. Police have lodged an FIR No 141/2012 under relevant section of laws at police station Doda and started its investigation. Meanwhile various religious organizations of Doda District appreciated the move of the authorities by stopping this cultural programmed organized as a part Bhaderwah Tourism Festival that can create chaos among the people by vitiating the peaceful atmosphere. They have appealed to the concerned not to allow such vulgar shows in future. |
