| AE caught red handed, accepting bribe | | | JAMMU FEB 1
The State Vigilance Organization today caught red- handed Manzoor Ahmed Bhat, Assistant Engineer of Rural Development Department Block Shopian while accepting bribe of Rs.1800 from the complainant.
Following the complaint lodged in the Vigilance Organization stating therein that the accused Engineer was demanding Rs.2, 700/- as graft for releasing the payment in favour of Muhammad Iqbal Shah, Contractor in connection with the construction of bathroom in Government Higher Secondary School Hajipora. The deal was however, finally settled at Rs.1800, the complaint said.
Following this a case FIR No. 6/2007 U/S 5(2) PC Act, 2006 r/w 161/RPC was registered in P/S Vigilance Organization Kashmir in this behalf and a trap was laid During which the accused was caught red handed while accepting the bribe money from the contractor
