MLA Khajuria sanctions Rs 12 lakh for Dry Fruit Mandi | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 27: In order to improve the existing infrastructure of Dry Fruit Mandi Jewel Chowk, MLA Jammu East Ashok Khajuria has sanctioned an amount of Rs 12 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the construction of public conveniences. Accompanied by Jammu District President Rajesh Gupta, Khajuria today visited the Dry Fruit Market and on the spot announced the sanctioning of funds for the betterment of the complex. Executive Engineer Thapa, AEE Paramjeet Singh and JE Ashok Sharma of Jammu Municipal Corporation also accompanied Ashok Khajuria. He was received by Vinod Gupta, Ved Pal Gandotra and Vijay the President and other office bearers of Dry Fruit Market Association and who apprised him of the problems being faced by the traders and public visiting the market. The most pressing problems being faced included lack of public toilet and drainage system and absence of clean drinking water facility. He also asked the staff of the Municipal Corporation accompanying him to install a water cooler in the market and also bore a well for installation of hand pump. He further directed the said staff to prepare a estimate for construction of drainage system in the market so that he makes available funds for the same. He assured the traders and the public that he is always available for their service and shall always strive for improving the conditions prevailing in his constituency. |
