YV Sharma fails to act as per CCI constitution, alleges Gupta | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 27: Expressing his strong resentment and concern against the alleged failure of President Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Jammu to act as per the constitution of CCI, the President Jammu Pharmaceutical Distributors Association (JPDA), Jammu Province, Rakesh Gupta said today that the inactions of the President CCI would cause a great harm to the interests of the business community. In a press statement issued here today, Rakesh Gupta said that CCI President YV Sharma's failure to act effectively has put the future of business community at stake which is already working under great stress and un-justified threats from various government departments. Gupta said that the President CCI Jammu was supposed to constitute an "Executive Committee" within one month of election which was held on April 28 but has not so far done anything towards nominating members to the executive committee even after a lapse of two months. The non-formation of committee shall result in total collapse of working of CCI Jammu. He further cautioned the President CCI Jammu that the Executive Committee should not exceed 10% of the total members and shall comprise of only the Principal members, who are members for the last two clear years. Gupta alleged that the President CCI Jammu, YV Sharma had violated the constitution of Chamber in his last tenure also by forming an executive committee of more than 350 members against 150 as provided under the constitution. He appealed to the President CCI Jammu to form the committee immediately and urgently in the best interest of business community strictly in accordance with the constitution or the members shall have no option but to move a "Vote of No Confidence" against the President CCI as provided under the constitution.
