| Court grants interim bail to accused, involved in fake certificate case | | | Jammu, Feb 01 Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu Mr. Sanjay Dhar granted interim bail to accused Bankey Ram, Jagdish Chander, Parkash and Parmeshwar Dutt, all employees of CAPD Department, against whom Crime Branch Jammu, in a complaint has registered a case for producing fake qualification certificates for seeking promotions. According to the police case, a complaint was lodged before this CJM, which was forwarded to Crime Branch Jammu for investigation. As per the allegations made in the complaint that accused, which were initially appointed as class-VI employees in CAPD Department, in order to obtain promotions and postings produced fake certificates before the concerned authorities. The investigation agency got the academic qualification certificates, pertaining to accused, verified from the J&K Board of School Education and were found fake. It was also found that entries in the service books were made on the basis of these certificates and took benefit of promotions on these certificates. A case u/s 420/467/468/471 RPC was registered and investigation was in progress. CJM, after hearing Advocate Vishal Kapur and Advocate Satinder Gupta appearing for the accused/applicants and also going through the police report, granted interim bail to the accused. From the perusal of the case dairy it is revealed that accused/ applicants have submitted false documents before the concerned authorities for getting benefit about 20 years back. The investigating agency has already got the certificates in question verified and even service books of the accused have been scrutinized. The investigation agency is already in possession of the copies of fake certificates; therefore, custodial interrogation of accused/applicants is not needed in the present case. Keeping all these factors in view, the accused are admitted to bail subject to furnishing of bail bond with one surety in the amount of Rs 25000/-. The accused shall appear before Investigating officer from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon till next date of hearing, which is February 5, the Court ordered.
