Common Kashmiri sees conspiracy in burning down of shrine to derail peace | Separatists isolated | | early times report SRINAGAR, June 27: Though militants and separatists are trying to exploit situation arisen out of the mysterious fire that broke into revered sofi shrine of Peer Dastgeer Sahab at at Khanyar Srinagar on Monday but the common Kashmiri has not only isolated himself from separatists while expressing his anger and grief against the episode but did not pay any attention towards their statements which were aimed at grinding their own axe instead of assuaging the feelings of the common man. The separatist leaders including Azam Inqulabi of Mahaz e-Azadi, Hilal Ahmed of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Party (JKPP) and Shabir Ahmed Shah of J&K Democratic Party tried to exploit the situation to their own advantage have been rejected by the common Kashmiri who though has a genuine concern over the incident as the shrine was a symbol of Kashmiriyat and its composite culture. The common Kashmiris don't rule out a sabotage in the fire incident as the shrine used to be revered by Hindus and Muslims of Valley alike and prior to mass migration of minorities from Kashmir a large number of members of Pandit community were seen paying obeisance at this sofi shrine along with their Muslim brethren, seek blessings and pray for well being of their family members and nears and dears. They may even offer donations or other kind of the offerings as per their capacity at the shrine as the shrine was considered an important pillar of Rishi and Sofi cult of Kashmir. Seeing through the gameplan of separatists it was the reason that Shabir Ahmed Shah and Nayeem Ahmed Khan were roughed up by the mob. Though Hilal Ahmed has given another bandh call on June 29 and asked people to assemble after Friday prayers to protest against the burning down of the shrine and Azam Inqulabi termed the gutting of the shrine a biggest conspiracy and asked the pro freedom leaders and ulemas to ascertain the facts about the same, there were no takers for their statements as common Kashmiri tried to isolate himself from the Hurriyat and separatists and instead tried to protest to express his own sentiments against the gutting of this centuries old shrine. The people of Kashmir who see a sabotage and a conspiracy in burning down of shrine have also raised a question mark that why often such types of incidents take place always during the period of Swami Amarnath Ji yatra. J&K People’s Welfare Association and senior citizens and Pensioners Forum which expressed its shock and grief over the burning down of the shrine and use of cesspools water by fire services jawans to extinguish the fire has termed the fire incident a big conspiracy to destabilize the peace in the Valley which was fast returning to normalcy. In a statement Ghulam Rasool of PWA Kashmir said though people had expectations that with the start of Amarnath yatra, tourist trade will get a boost in the Valley and it will be the beginning of a new era some vested elements who want to push Kashmir backwards are trying to sabotage the peace process. He demanded a thorough probe into the fire incident at this revered shrine and action against those found guilty. The people of Valley have already suffered a lot during last 23 years of turmoil and now they can't afford the same, he added. Supporting him Abdul Sattar of senior citizens Forum Kashmir said that now Kashmiris will not fall into the trap of separatists who for their vested interests lured the masses to follow their dictates. But now the people have seen their game plan and will not fall in their trap. To protest against the burning down of the shrine was a cause of concern for every Kashmiri irrespective of his religion but at the same time no political interference in the religious affairs will be tolerated by Kashmiris now. The shrine is one of the pillars of Kashmir's composite culture and those who had tried to put on fire were the worst enemies of the Kashmiris, he added.
