HM, LeT regrouping in Kishtwar: Reports | | | early times report Kishtwar, June 27: The infiltration of fresh militant groups in Kishtwar District of Jammu and Kashmir have become a major cause of concern among the peace loving people of Kishtwar living in hilly areas of this district. According to the reports militant's organizations like Hizbul Mujahedeen and Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) started regrouping in hills of Kishtwar District and are seen roaming in areas like Bhunzwah, Keshwan, Marwah/Dachhan and Chatroo area of the District. The reports said that a group of 5 militants headed by one Bashir Mochi of was sighted in Bhunzwah hills. The intelligence agencies said that Bashir Mochi is a local militant who had returned back from Pakistan only few months ago with an assignment to recruit new youths in militancy. The reports said that three other groups sighted in the Kishtwar District was headed by Dr Jaffar, Abu Akasha and Babar who is newly recruited youth from Kwath village of Chatroo Tehsil of Kishtwar District. If intelligence is to be believed among these militants Abu Akasha is considered as most dreaded militant. Akasha is said to be a Pakistani militant who was operating in erstwhile Doda District till 2008, before he ex-filtrated to Pakistan in the year 2008. He reportedly left Jammu and Kashmir after his close associate Abu Sumama (IT expert) was gunned down in an encounter with security forces in Doda. As per the reports all the four militants headed the group of 4-5 people including few foreigners. Another militant Dr Jaffar who heads the group of 5 militants is said to remain active in Marwah area of Kishtwar District in late 90s and remained active till 2000. Further reports added that keeping in view of pressure on HM militants involved in last September Delhi High Court blast, HM and LeT pushes its carders to Kishtwar District with the aim to provide logistic support to under stressed HM militants active in Kishtwar District beside to recruit new youths in militancy to keep their activities alive in the area. The reports said that as a part of its major plan, LeT and HM shows his confidence on old carders as a result of which both HM and LeT shows trust on Akasha, Dr Jaffar and Bashir Mochi who are not only familiar with terrain but are believed to be acquainted with combat training and thus can manage to recruit new youths in militancy ranks successfully. As far as movement of militant group in Kwath of Chatroo in Kishtwar District, the intelligence report suggested that the group has infiltrated from Viloo area of Anantnag District of Kashmir. Meanwhile the family members of Babar lodged his missing complaints, but police believes that there are reports that he has joined militancy. In a question regarding movement of fresh militant groups in Kishtwar, Kishtwar Police said that they are verifying the reports and said that the security forces are fully prepared to counter any terror threat. It is worthwhile to mention that LeT was wiped out in Kishtwar District after last surviving LeT militant Habib Gujjar@Salman was eliminated by Kishtwar police and 11 RR in an encounter at Keshwan area of the District in August last year. Reports also said that only seven Hizb militants identified as Amir Kamal@Akram, Mohammad Amin Butt@Jahingir Saroori, Shakir Hussain @Chota Hafiz, Rizwan, Mohammad Shafi, Junaid Akram@Juni and Riaz Ahmed are active in the district.
