BJYM leaders join JKDF | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 28: In a major setback to State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sahil Gupta, the Mandal President Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Ramnagar along with Mandal Vice President resigned from the party and formally joined Jammu Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF) headed by Anil Gupta.BJYM leaders Sahil Gupta and Ankit Gupta have served the party for the last so many years left it in a simple but impressive programme held today. Both the leaders said that they are leaving the party with a heavy heart; however, there was no other option left as they are feeling suffocated due to the dictatorial attitude of State BJP leadership. Sahil Gupta said that a group of leaders is running the party like a monopoly. A democratic party cannot function like this. Some leaders in the party with their own interests are spoiling the party. Senior most workers are being ignored and favourite ones are being bestowed with important positions in the party.Party has become an agency of NC-Congress Coalition Government and some leaders are working as agents of NC and Congress. We are unable to work in such an environment where even senior party workers are not given their due. The expulsion of seven MLAs especially Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has virtually split the party and reduces its mass base.Ankit Gupta said that there is a need to bring some change in the political imbalances between Jammu and Kashmir. The major political groups including Congress and BJP are playing power politics and have no concern with the common masses and interests of Jammu region. Anil Gupta while welcoming the both youth leaders into the party said, 'JKDF is a party of youth and has been formed to fight injustice, inequality, disparity, discrimination and other social imbalances prevailing in the State especially with Jammu. |
